Wolf Brothers

     Wolf Brothers is about a boy and his father and they live in the forest. In the forest they had clans. Clans are groups of people who live together.   The names of the clans are animal names like the Boar Clan or the Wolf Clan and that name identifies the family. The boy's name is Torak.  He calls his father Fa. 

      Torak and his father were camping and a bear attacked the tent and took a chunk out of Torak's Fa leaving a hole in him.  Fa  knew that he would die before sunrise as a result of the injury. Torak and Fa were part of the Wolf Clan and so that means that the wolf was considered part of their family.  Before Fa died he told Torak about the history of the bear. He said the bear was a regular bear at first but then he was possessed by a demon.  Fa told him that by the fourth moon the bear will be the strongest and no one can stop him.   

     Fa made Torak promise that he would get to Spirit Moutain before the fourth moon. On Torak's  journey he heard the whimper of a wolf.  No matter how hungry Torak was he couldn't eat his clan brother.  Torak couldn't take the wolf with him because it would slow him down and he didn't want to get attached to the wolf because he wouldn't want to leave it to starve.

  He took wolf with him anyway and on their journey they were kidnapped by the Raven Clan. They kidnapped Torak because he was on the side of the forest they had bought.   If Torak could beat the strongest kid (Hord) then they would set him free.  They couldn't use fire to fight but used the next best thing, steam.  Torak distracted Hord by drinking water.  Hord thought it was a trick so he backed up right into the steam pot causing him to fall.  Torak got up and put his sword at Hord's throat.

  It turns out that the leader of the Raven Clan didn't keep his promise. The leader was thinking about taking Torak to the mountain and taking the blood from his heart causing him to die. Torak couldn't take the risk of dying so he designed a plan to get wolf and himself out of the camp.  He had finally gotten out but the Raven Clan were on his trail,  ready to kill him.  Instead, one of the Ravens was helping him escape.

 The three couldn't go to the mountain without three pieces of ancient stones. The two stones were pretty easy to find but the last was the hardest. The three had to go into a cave to get the last stone.  First they had trouble with the watchers, big bats.  Then the bear showed up.

  By that time the bear was huge.  You could hear the roar from a hundred miles away, and you could feel his paws thump the earth.  Thankfully they got away.

   By now you probably thought Hord and the Raven Clan stopped looking for them.  They had been caught by Hord!.

 When they  returned to the Raven Clan the bear had come and shattered everything .  The worst thing for the Raven Clan was their leader had been attacked!  When Torak walked inside the leaders tent there was blood all over the walls of the tent.  The Raven Clan finally let Torak go to the mountain to kill the bear.  Torak knew he would face the bear.  Then Torak saw the bear.

  They started to fight when the person who wanted to kill Torak, Hord, comes and joins in the fight to help kill the bear.

  Torak's Fa had an enemy. The enemy was a crippled wanderer who had put a demon into the bear so the bear could kill Fa.  Fa knew what his enemy had done.   Hord helped the man catch the demon.  Hord didn't know that by helping the crippled wanderer that he had helped destroy the forest.

 Then a huge, clump of snow fell on Hord and the bear.  Finally the bear had been killed and it was before the fourth moon.   Wolf ran off telling Torak thanks and fairwell.
